Spanish II

This course builds on foundational language skills from Spanish 1, immersing students in more complex everyday and real-world situations. The curriculum covers topics like school life, personal routines, housing, and family responsibilities, and later expands to include professions, career planning, travel, and medical situations. Students will develop communication proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, while gaining cultural insights into various Spanish-speaking regions.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion, students will master advanced grammar concepts such as subject and object pronouns, various present and past tenses, and the present subjunctive with stem-changing verbs. They will learn idiomatic expressions, cooking terms, and be able to use gerunds to form the present progressive tense.

Audience

Students who have successfully completed Spanish I, students preparing for further language study in high school or college, and students interested in developing intermediate proficiency and deeper cultural understanding of the Spanish-speaking world.
