AP Chemistry

This course is aligned with the College Board’s Curriculum Framework, fostering a deep understanding of the physical world through the lens of scientific inquiry. Our STEM-oriented approach encourages students to continually ask questions, using exploration and discovery to guide learning. The curriculum focuses on nine themes crucial for AP® Chemistry instruction, emphasizing strong qualitative and quantitative analysis and communication, enabling students to grapple creatively with important scientific and societal problems.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion, students will be able to analyze and construct the periodic table, apply Coulomb’s Law, and investigate chemical equations. They will be able to creatively grapple with important scientific problems using strong qualitative and quantitative analysis, understand the laws of thermodynamics, and analyze reversible reactions and Le Chatelier’s principle.

Audience

Students who have successfully completed Chemistry, students enrolling in AP® Chemistry to prepare for the AP Exam, and students planning to pursue science, engineering, or technical fields in college.
