English 9

This course is designed to develop students’ analytical and writing skills through the interpretation and analysis of diverse texts. Students will analyze techniques in poetry, fiction, and nonfiction to understand thematic connections and inform their own writing and discussions. This curriculum provides a comprehensive foundation for high school English, preparing students for more advanced literary analysis and composition.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion, students will apply reading strategies, analyze text structure, and determine central ideas and themes across various genres. They will produce effective analytical, argumentative, narrative, and expository writing, and be able to evaluate arguments, informative texts, and fictional texts across different mediums.
