This course emphasizes the importance of dedicating time and effort to comprehending what it means to be healthy. Students will explore how to identify and avoid activities that pose long-term health risks, and discover lifestyles that contribute to a longer, more fulfilling life. The curriculum provides a holistic approach to understanding health, equipping students with practical knowledge they can apply throughout their lives.

Learning Outcomes

By the end, students will be equipped to understand healthy eating by identifying characteristics of a healthy diet and recognizing the connection between nutrition and chronic disease. They will also learn to embrace physical activity, develop strategies for preventing disease and injury, and analyze the harmful effects of substance use while identifying types of mental and emotional health issues.
