Physical Science

This course provides a comprehensive curriculum focused on fundamental physical science concepts, including the nature of matter, energy, and forces. It emphasizes the application of scientific and engineering practices through inquiry and guided instruction. Various labs and activities promote scientific thinking, critical thinking, writing, and communication skills, deepening students’ understanding of science.

Key Topics

  • Matter and Energy
  • Forces and Motion
  • Electromagnetism and Waves
  • Electricity, Magnetism and Electric Circuits
  • Chemical Reactions

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion, students will be able to apply the scientific method to discover new concepts, ask scientific questions, form and test hypotheses, and use logic and evidence to draw conclusions. They will use virtual labs to explore simulations and refine their writing and scientific reasoning skills through practice and discussion activities.

Grade Level

  • High School (Grades 9–12), Middle School (6-8)

Audience
