Precalculus

This course builds students’ knowledge of a wide range of mathematical concepts and applies them to real-world situations. Students will write functions that describe relationships between quantities, define and solve various types of functions, and explore exponential and logarithmic models. This course provides the robust foundation needed for college-level mathematics.

Key Topics

  • Inverse and Trigonometric Functions
  • Logarithmic Functions and Complex Numbers
  • Vectors and Polar Coordinates
  • Conic Sections and Matrices
  • Sequences, Induction, and Probability
  • Limits and Area Under the Curve (Basic Calculus)

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion, students will learn to write and solve various functions that describe relationships between quantities, use the unit circle, and apply trigonometric identities. They will also understand and graph conic sections, solve systems using matrices, develop probability distributions, and explore the foundational concepts of calculus.

Grade Level

  • High School (Grades 10–12)

Audience

Students who have successfully completed Algebra II, students preparing for AP Calculus or college-level math, and students seeking to develop advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
