Principles of Information Technology
This course is a foundational sequence aiming to introduce students to the fundamental concepts and complexities of information technology. Students will develop a core understanding of computer systems, hardware, operating systems, and application software. The curriculum explores the internet, network security, and ethical/legal considerations. The second segment delves into emerging technologies, computer programming, and web development, concluding with an exploration of diverse IT career pathways.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completion, students will be able to identify hardware components, describe input/output devices, and install/maintain software and hardware. They will gain practical skills in using common office software, explore network security, apply HTML to design web pages, and identify key skills and certifications necessary for success in various IT career pathways.
