Spanish I

This course is designed to immerse students in the diverse Spanish-speaking world, introducing fundamental communication skills for everyday situations. The curriculum covers essential topics like greetings, descriptions of people, family, social life, food, and various activities. The course emphasizes building a strong foundation in basic sentence structures and grammar, fostering listening, speaking, reading, and writing proficiency.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion, students will be able to use subject pronouns with conjugated verbs and correctly apply adjectives and articles. They will construct and comprehend present tense sentences, use differentiating verbs (like ser vs. estar), and count up to 1,000. Students will also be able to express likes and dislikes, use the preterite tense, and discuss future events using the subjunctive mood.
