Private School Tutor: GR 1-8 Math, Reading & Writing

ABOUT SPRING ACADEMY
Spring Academy is a WA State Approved private school in Seattle educating students exclusively through one-to-one instruction. It is a progressive school for students who face challenges in their current setting: academic challenges, social or emotional issues, or learning disabilities. Each child has the capacity for success and we are committed to helping each student recognize and realize their full potential and abilities. We have partnered with other private schools in North Seattle to provide onsite tutoring and have openings for qualified tutors for the upcoming school year.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a well-qualified tutors/teachers who shares our passion for education tailored to each child and has the requisite educational expertise to contribute to our mission. Our school is caring, professional, and positive, and we seek the same traits in our staff. Our Private School Tutors will begin in the fall and address pre-determined goals related to the special needs of students at other private schools within the North Seattle area. These students are enrolled in regular education classes but have additional learning needs.
16-24 hours per week, Monday-Thursday
Flexible, paid prep time: 1 hour of paid prep for every 3 hours of instruction
Compensation: $25/hour plus mileage ($0.57/mile)
Area: North Seattle

QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Elementary and/or middle school experience
Special education training and or tutoring/teaching experience
Enjoys engaging directly with students in a one-on-one setting
Flexible and able to adapt to a variety of grades, skill levels, and student personalities

REQUIREMENTS
Expertise in Math, Reading and Writing in grades 1-8
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)
Ability to drive your own private vehicle to schools around North Seattle
